Real shape, real fields. HVAC contractors cannot hold a workers'-comp exemption β so this is a purchase, not a maybe.
The pipeline already exists. Nobody is working it.
These are counts, not estimates β recomputed from the current Master List every time this page loads.
Why roofing and HVAC are the sharpest list
A roofing contractor (C-39) cannot file a workers'-comp exemption at all under B&P Β§7125. HVAC (C-20), concrete (C-8), asbestos (C-22) and tree service (D-49) have been required to carry coverage even with no employees since SB 216 took effect on 1 January 2023. The file shows the difference plainly:
Share of active licences holding a workers'-comp exemption, by classification, from the 2026-08-12 file. The statewide mandate for every other classification arrives 1 January 2028 β SB 1455 moved it from 2026 β so today 48.8% of active licences are still legitimately exempt. Read the full timeline β
Three steps, then it runs itself.
Save your territory
Pick counties, trades and how far ahead you want to look β 30, 60 or 90 days. Saved once; it drives every list after that.
We pull the file weekly
Every Sunday night the current CSLB Master List and workers'-comp file are downloaded, parsed and matched against your territory.
Monday morning, a working list
Business name, dialable phone, mailing address, trade, the carrier whose policy is ending and the exact expiry date. Call or mail the same day.
Every field, and how often it's actually there.
Measured on the 2026-08-12 file, over the 23,501-plus records that become leads β not a spec sheet.
No service built on CSLB data can hand you a contractor's email address, because the board is prohibited from publishing them. These are call-and-mail leads: a name, a phone number, an address and the carrier you're displacing.
βPlaceholder: this is where a real quote from a licensed California commercial agent goes, naming the specific week they won an account from a lapse list. No invented testimonials until a paying customer says something quotable.β
